On each bank of the Xindin River stand Taipei City and Yonghe District. The Zhongzheng Riverside Park sits on the right bank of the river, while the Zhongzheng Bridge Baseball Field is on the left. As there was no bridge linking Taipei City and Yonghe in the past, people used to cross the river by sampan. A new theme children’s playground is designed in the Zhongzheng Riverside Park based on this historical theme. As the highlight of the playground, Taiwan’s first “ring-shaped” slide allows children to experience the exceptional sense of speed. There are also various types of playground equipment, including the exciting zipline and slides for children to enjoy a superb high-speed slide in the sky. In addition to the above existing equipment, there are also a spring bus and spring car for use by a maximum of six children at the same time. The originally colorless middle section of the playground has been painted into colorful lanes with small bumps to make skating more fun for children. Lastly, the stepping stone and balance beam zone is planned under the tree shale for parents and children to enjoy the cool while playing.
All project items have been completed, including the new children’s playground (flooring, drainage improvement, new balance beam, and zipline), new lighting equipment, new landscape restrooms, and other related facilities. The project was completed on August 13, 2021. The playground was opened on October 1, 2021.
