【Freedom Reigns】、【Auspicious Times】

Freedom Reigns

Freedom Square, a symbol of democracy, and the country’s top high schools: A group of students dressed in the uniforms of Taipei First Girls’ High School and Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School, sitting in front of Freedom Square with open books. This design represents the humanities, knowledge, democracy, and historical sites of Zhongzheng District. Through the manhole cover, we hope to introduce more people to the distinctive features of this land.

Auspicious Times

This manhole design features iconic buildings of North Gate (Cheng’en Gatre) and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, along with the world’s first and unique Butterfly Pavilion at Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School, showcasing Taiwan’s endemic swallowtail butterfly species. This design also incorporates the district flower, the cotton tree flower, as well as the symbol of freedom and democracy, the wild lily flower,allowing citizens to appreciate the beauty of Zhongzheng District.
