Jingmei Riverside Park
Sitting between the Jingmei Bridge and the temporary iron bridge at Lane 146, Jingwen Street, the park occupies an area of about 47,006m2. The Jingmei Riverside Park is located between the Jingmei Bridge and the Xindian River estuary. The nearby area has a rich history and many good amenities. Besides convenient transportation, there are many schools of all levels nearby, and the food at Jingmei Night Market is delicious and cheap. The bikeway in the Jingmei Riverside Park extends westward to National Cheng Chi University and Taipei Zoo, and eastward to Tamsui and Bali. At the culvert under the Mingyuan Bridge there is a graffiti area with white walls covered with avant-garde works in sharp colors. In the riverside park, there is basketball court with lighting at night. Every day many people exercise in the park. Students from the neighboring Shih Hsin University often organize various club activities and social activities here. Before the annual school sports meet, many freshmen hold cheerleading training or competitions here. During holidays, many citizens come for a stroll, walk their dogs, exercise, and cycle in the park. It is a riverside park with a high occupancy.

Evolution of Jingmei's Geonym During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, the Qing government built irrigation canals extensively in Taiwan, Jingmei located at the end of these canals was called "Jianmei." Between the reign of Emperor Guangsui and Japanese colonization, the place was renamed "Jingmei." In 1945, the Chinese character of the geonym was changed from "end" into "beauty."
Jingmei Night Market Jingmei Night Market is the most popular night market in Taipei south. As it is near Shih Hsin University, many young people visit the night market. Food stalls featuring Taiwanese cuisine are centralized in the public market. It is the most authentic night market in Taipei City. As the food price is generally lower than that of other regions, the night market is crowded. Besides food, there are also fashion shops and appliance stores in the market, there is also FE A-Mart, Hanshin Department Store, and an affiliated cinema nearby to add more fun to the entire Jingmei shopping area. Xianjiyan Xianjiyan is also called the Jingmei Mountain. As it is located near the confluence of the Jingmei River and Xiandian River, it is also called the Xizikou Mountain (lit. estuary mountain). At the mountain top sits a gigantic rock on which there is a footprint. It is said that it was the footprint of Lu Dongbin, and people thus called it "Xianjiyan" (lit. immortal's footprint rock). There are 14 hiking entrances on Xianjiyan. Visitors usually enter the mountain from the Xianjiyan Arch Gate in Lane 243, Jingxing Street.
