Knowledge Tips

Upper Tayo
The Yingfeng Riverside Park was originally the settlement of plain indigenes called "Upper Tayo." In Basay language, "catayo" means the brilliant head-covering worn by women at the wedding. On the covering, there are embroideries with beads and feathers to present solemnity and dignity. As the tribe called themselves "catayo" (beautiful head-covering), it was called the "Catayo Tribe," and Han people later called it "Tayo."
