Daonan Riverside Park
Located next to the Jingmei River in Wenshan District, the park with an area of about 317,641m2 sits between the Taipei Zoo and the Baoqiao Bridge. The park is divided into two sections: the left bank and right bank of the Jingmei River. Great green meadows extending along the river are what is seen in the park. Besides enjoying leisure time, visitors can conveniently rent a bike at the bicycle rental station near the Taipei Zoo to freely roam on the well-planned bikeway in the park. An inclusive playground is planned at the down reach of Huagguang Bridge on the right bank of the Jingmei River. Conceived upon the theme "Little Mine Town," a railway is planned to connect different play sites, in which different types of games are designed according to the elevation of each site. By combining with the nearby space, the largest open space by the river is preserved to create a place for fun for different ages and physical strengths.

Wenshan In the "Maps of Taiwan" during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty, Wenshan was known as the "Quantoumu Mountain" or "Quantou Mountain." During the reign of Emperor Jiaqing, it became the "Quan Mountain." Later during the reign of Emperor Guangsui, it was renamed "Wenshan Mountain." During Japanese colonization, the mountain was unnamed and only called "Tanyaokeng" (charcoal kilning site). Today, it is commonly called the "Jingmei Mountain" along which Shih Hsin University was built. Duchuan Lane and Daonan Bridge When the Han people migrated to Muzhan area during the Qing dynasty, they built "wooden barricades" at the foot of Mt. Gangliao on the north bank of the Daonan Bridge to defend the attacks of indigenes. As time went by, the indigenes were gone, and those wooden barricades for defending indigenous attacks became obstacles of transportation. Local residents thus took a ferry and built a "duchuantou" (jetty) near the present-day Duxian Bridge at National Cheng Chi University for transportation to the Datieliao on the opposite side (present day Section 2, Muxin Road, Muxin Village). After being destroyed by a flood, the jetty was rebuilt near the present-day Daonan Bridge at Lane 96, Section 2, Zhinan Road. Local seniors still called the lane "Duchuan Lane" (jetty lane). The Daonan Bridge was built by Zhinan Temple at its own expense in 1935 for worshippers to worship deities in the temple. The bridge links the Wuzha Pier (present-day Muxin Village) and Xinxing (present-day Wanxing Village). As traffic increased later, it was rebuilt into an arch bridge. To smooth watercourse traffic, the bridge has been rebuilt again into a concrete bridge in recent years, with a new wooden pavement and bikeway beside.
Zhinan Temple A temple built in 1890 commonly known to residents in Wenshan District, Zhinan Temple is located on the mountain behind National Ching Chi University. As Lü Dongbin is the main deity worshipped, the temple is also called "Xiangong Temple" (Temple of the Immortal). The rumor that lovers are not advised to worship Lu at the same time adds much legendary flavor to the temple. In front of the temple, there are 1,185 steps to test one's physical strength. The perfect vision from the platform in front of the main hall allows one to see the Taipei Basin from above. Taipei Zoo Also called Muzha Zoo, Taipei Zoo with an area of 182 hectares located near National Cheng Chi University was officially opened on October 31, 1986. The interior design fully matches with the local terrain to emphasize landscape maintenance and a balance with nature and ecology. It is a zoo for education, research, wildlife protection, and entertainment.
