Dajia Riverside Park

Riverside Parks in Taipei

Located between the Dazhi Bridge and Zhongshan Bridge over the Keelung River, the Dajia Riverside Park occupies an area of 420,000m2.

It is a waterfront sports park built by the WRA on the proclaimed land from a river cutoff of the Keelung River. As the land is spacious and flat, the park has become a popular venue of various outdoor events organized by the TCG. Due to the straight and calm watercourse, the park is the venue for the dragon boat competition during the Dragon Boat Festival every year. The waters under the Dazhi Bridge are a popular spot for canoeing and other water games. It is also the canoeing training site of the College of Kinesiology, University of Taipei. In addition to bikeways, other facilities in the park include basketball courts, tennis courts, and badminton courts. In the park, citizens can exercise and enjoy the valuable leisure moments. The 75-meter-high "Fountain of Hope" is the most famous landscape in the Dajia Riverside Park. The fan-shaped water curtain from the fountain set against the classic and brilliant red building of the Grand Hotel are an unforgettable scene.

Taipei Story House
A single European-styled building sitting next to the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, it was built by a wealthy merchant during Japanese Occupation and was called "Yuanshan Mansion" at the time. It was used to entertain Taiwanese gentries and overseas distinguished guests. Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of the ROC, was also received here. In 1979, it was purchased by the TCG and listed as a city monument to establish the present-day Taipei Story House.
