Location: Inside the embankment of Section 1 (Lane 105) of Tonghe East Street, Shilin District

In the past, Shilin was known for its lush greenery and was once known as "Orchid Forest" because of its abundant orchid species. The Minnan language of Shilin is also close to the pronunciation of "Shulin," so the design is based on the diversity and richness of the forest, which is integrated into Shilin's transformation. Since ancient times, the development of Shilin has been closely connected to the Keelung River. Transportation, industries and humanities have all changed with the cutting off the Keelung River. For example, the Shilin Paper Factory, an old landmark that witnessed the de-velopment of local industries, the demolition of the Shilin Suspension Bridge and the construction of the Balling Bridge, the opening of the MRT Tamsui Line to replace the Tamsui Railway and the gradual development of the Sanjiaodu Ferry Port from a transportation service to a sightseeing ser-vice are all examples of changes that not only represent the advancement of science and technology and industries, but also reflect the co-prosperity and co-existence between people and nature.
